Gilchrist Inn

Most amazing surprise lodging of our eastern Oregon trip. Everything about our "find" was perfect. Located off the highway, quiet. The Red Room was nostalgic and filled with everything except Marlene Dietrich herself ... altho, Marlene, our host was close and is vivacious, warm and friendly. The 2 bedroom suite was comfy, cozy, roomy, clean, and a full kitchen. All for less than a typical motel room. Highly recommend the Inn and will definitely stay there again when we are in the area.

This place was a gem and Marlene is such a sweet host. Can't recommend it enough. Accommodations had a ton of space both inside and outside, great value. Hope to return someday.

Lovely little place to rest. Plenty of room, good facilities including an outdoor kitchen (depends on the unit), Marlene the owner is lovely. Double bonus for having Easy Rider on VHS, although a Gen X thumbs down to the person that didn't rewind the tape!!

The rooms are more like fully furnished apartments than motel rooms. Everything you need except your clothes and toiletries is included. Marlene is a sweetie pie, and the rates are really good compared to some faceless corporate motel. This is within walking distance of the convenience store and the restaurant in Gilchrist, or if you are more ambitious, Crescent is about a mile away with more restaurants. This is a wonderful alternative to the usual.

Host Marlene is an angel from Heaven. She is the most thoughtful, kind and conscientious host I have ever met. We had the good fortune to find her when we had to leave a motel which shouldn’t have been functioning as a motel. So we were traumatized and she was a breath of fresh air! She points out that the water out of the tap is exceedingly good in Gilchrist, and we agree. Every time we turned around we saw another thoughtful detail or fascinating art. The place is impeccably clean and her care and attention are evident everywhere. Thank you, Marlene!
