A week ago we went to centennial to ski at snowy range. We wanted to stay one night. We stopped at the Friendly Motel first. They refused us service because I had a service animal. My service dog travels (and flys) with me all the time. I need her for nightmares with PTSD. By law, a business cannot refuse someone service due to having a trained service animal. “ Generally, businesses and non-profits that are open to the public as well as state/local governments must allow service animals to go most places where the public can go. This is true even if they have a “no pets” policy.” They just said, they didn’t allow any pets. Check the ADA guidelines because your business was in violation of discrimination towards me.
Historically the Friendly Store was the budget-level option in Centennial for quirky outdoorsy folks and music lovers--cinder-block walled rooms with very basic amenities. Over the last couple of years the owners have transformed the rooms as much as can be done. Nicely tiled bathroom, new vanity and all new fixtures. On-demand hot water so the place doesn't run out of hot showers. It feels like new carpeting with a nice pad underneath. New everything, basically, including GIANT television and giant sofa and arm chair (in room #1). Bedding and towels are motel-quality, which is appropriate for the price point. We took showers both days (would have tried to get by on one in the "old" bathrooms). The site includes a cafe, which in the past has been dependable. The Century Saloon is a great C
Stopped to grab a Wyoming souvenir and ran to the restroom while there. Incredibly passive aggressive signage, the initial sign I completely understand, but the added writings are unnecessary. We love supporting small business but being bullied into it is weird. The attendant was also stand-offish while checking us out after we used the restroom and bought $15 in souvenirs. Odd experience all around. Maybe an off day, but “Friendly” is a stretch :/
The convenience store is great! They have a great selection for people passing through. Bar staff is always nice and I don’t mind stopping here for breakfast or refreshments on my way through Centennial. Thanks guys!
We sat down at the last available table. Once we ordered it took 1 hour 40 minutes to get our food. The cook only cooks one ticket at a time. I will never eat here again. The food was fine, bacon was under cooked.
