Great campground with views of The Flatirons. Site has two picnic tables, two shade structures, and two fire pits all close together so a larger group could get together. Also has bear box. Hike to Mexicano Falls is just south in the next big wash headed west. Crawford-Smith house is also cool to see at the end of the road. Have completed this trail without issues in AWD manual trans Honda element, lifted with all terrains as well as 4x4 3/4 ton square body on 33s, open diffs no lift. Both made it without damage. Trail is well traveled but will get some pinstriping if that matters to you. The climb out of the canyon at beginning of trail is much better with a true low range transfer case but depending on road conditions and vehicle, AWD can get you there.
