Founder's Brook Motel & Suites

For a place that’s not fancy, it’s rather nice! Everything looked pretty new and the room was clean. The water in the bathroom takes a few minutes to get hot but it’ll get there. For the price, it’s worth staying further away and drive into Providence which is less than 30 minutes away and Newport which is about 20 minutes away. The area is actually quite pretty - Bristol, Warren’s, etc. I’ve always loved this part of Rhode Island.

We had a real estate closing in Portsmouth and needed a place to stay for one night. I was pleasantly surprised. We had a suite that was very roomy with a living area with a retro looking fridge and microwave. The bed was comfortable and there were nice toiletries in the bathroom. They did have a coffee setup in the room, but I can't abide powdered creamer. If you can do black, it is perfect. I would recommend this spot.

Positive: Cheap Negative: The heating units are no where near sufficient for the weather. There is zero insulation and the floors were freezing.

I stayed here in June. It is a lovely little property, clean and well maintained grounds with a classic old school motel vibe. The rooms look recently renovated and modernized. Convenience of a fridge and well functioning air conditioning. Well designed bathroom with nice amenities. Property is easily accessible and rates were a good value. I'd definitely stay again if in the area.

The room was very clean and appeared to be newly renovated. The grounds were lovely, peaceful and well-maintained. I had morning coffee on a bench outside our room while listening to a bubbling fountain and admiring the colorful flowers. There is a picnic table on the lawn under a large shade tree. Our standard queen bedroom was small — completely satisfactory for us. That’s not a complaint, but guests who require more space may want to choose a suite instead.
