Fairmount Inn & Suites - Stroudsburg

Wow! Now under independent family ownership. Superb essentials. New firm beds. Newly revamped bathroom. No frills. No coffee pot in room. No Continental Breakfast. Big deal. Dunkin' Donuts is attached. I got there after midnight. The desk clerk said, "I already marked you down for a noon checkout. Fabulous experience. (I never made it to the pool.)

It is about 7 minutes away from ESU ( East Stroudsburg University). It's nothing fancy but the room was clean and the bed was comfortable. There is a Dunkin Donuts shop attached so you have a nice place to get some coffee/food in the morning. I would definitely come back here if I didn't feel like driving home. Also, the lady at the reception desk was very nice and even changed my room so I didn't have to walk so far, I basically parked right outside my new room and walked out when it was time to leave. No need to check out at the desk, just leave the room key/card on the desk in your room and go.

Positive: The room was clean Negative: Well, let’s start with the room deodorizer that is used was terrible and apparently it is sprayed on the headboard which is fabric so it makes for a hard night sleep, especially for people with allergies such as myself. No tissues and no coffeemaker.

AVOID THIS PLACE! 1. Mattress cover as you can see, is disgusting. They said either we clean it and cover it up ourselves OR they call the cleaning people who may not come since it was at night. They didn't have any other rooms available that night. Did I mention that this place doesn't have any extra mattress covers? The cleaners did come and they COVERED IT UP WITH A SHEET. That's what they told us, twice. Too cheap to afford new ones I see. They claimed to booking.com that they had rooms and we declined. LIE. They offered us a refund but it was 11pm in the middle of nowhere and we're not from around here. SAME night the wall thermostat didn't work so it was 65 degrees in the room. The manager came and it didn't work but the wall AC unit worked. So I'll give them that. Staff is unprofes

My 2nd or 3rd time here this year. This was close to my work for Friday morning Its a good location, just off highway 80. Plenty of parking. Nice looking indoor pool (I was too late). Hostess was friendly and got me checked in quick. Hallways are a little dated, but room was clean. Very comfortable bed and pillows Very reasonable on Priceline Ill definitely stay again
