Fairfield by Marriott Inn & Suites Strasburg Shenandoah Valley

Not one of the newest and up to date hotels, but still very clean and well maintained. Right off the interstate with several food choices within a mile of the hotel. Highly recommended

The young man when we checked in was very accommodating and gave us a lovely quiet room. Why I gave the average review was for two reasons the elevator and breakfast. The elevator was not functioning well. It kept stopping at the second floor for no reason and really was shaking. A bit frightening! |Breakfast was a bit strange. First I was at breakfast about 10 minutes early. It was dark in the breakfast room and even though everyone saw me no one turned on the lights. I only wanted to have a cup of coffee and had to sit in the dark. The breakfast itself was fine for myself but my husband thought it was the worst breakfast he ever had. Mainly due to the veggie sausage and terrible tasting eggs.

I was trying to stay in the area for local activities. This was not my first or second choice and can admit that I was concerned. However, when I called to ask a few questions I was greeted by a welcoming voice. Becky answered all my questions and was very professional. When I finally did arrive she was was equally as pleasant. The check in was smooth and the hotel lobby looked so welcoming. I was surprised that they had a pool and gym which were both open. I didn't know but will utilize them on my next visit. My room was more than I expected and very clean too. I still brought along my Lysol because it's still a pandemic, but everything was clean and smelled fresh. Also surprised that they had active housekeeping. The beds were comfortable and the check out was at noon. The breakfast was

Not up to par for a Marriott Fairfield. No recognition nor complementary water for upper level members. Bed is uncomfortable and pillows are lumpy and hard. Refrigerator does not get cold. Some of the towels seem old and thin while others are better to use. Absolutely no shampoo. Heater/AC unit is extremely noisy. Forget asking for a quiet room. You can hear the old elevator and ice machine. Breakfast is less than expected of usual Fairfield. Forget oatmilk or anything for those who are lactose intolerant. Coffee is thin and bitter. Forget watching the tv....its older and small.

This hotel is incredibly clean. The breakfast has plenty of options and the pool is opened until 11pm. You're easily able to walk to restaurants around, and the staff is awesome. It's only 30 minutes from the Shenandoah national park, so i found the price very reasonable. I would definitely come here again!
