Extended Stay America Suites- Ramsey - Upper Saddle River

We recently stayed four weeks at the Extended Stay in Upper Saddle Rive, NJ and had a very pleasant experience. This was our second time staying at this location and will stay here again when we return to the area. The amenities in the room were good with a functional kitchen and comfortable bed. The staff was responsive and respectful, the facility was clean and secure. The atmosphere good, other guests were quiet and friendly. Amply parking in a well-lighted lot. Plenty of easy to reach shopping along Hwy 17. I would recommend to anyone who plans to stay for an extended time and a excellent value.

This place is absolutely disgusting and completely misrepresented. The room was filthy, with visible mold in the AC unit and bathroom vents and everything reeked of smoke. The elevator smelled like rotten fish and the hallways and lobby constantly smelled of marijuana. The lobby itself was dirty and cluttered, with boxes everywhere, making the whole property feel neglected and poorly managed. The environment felt unsafe and uncomfortable. The hotel appears to function more as long-term housing for homeless individuals and refugees than as a place for paying hotel guests. People openly camp out in common areas. Despite advertising breakfast, there is effectively no breakfast. Any limited prepackaged items are taken immediately by people waiting in the lobby, leaving nothing for guests. Basi

Ramsey staff are excellent at providing the services needed for a comfortable stay.||The staff for me, Michael ODonnell, is solid when I request anything. ||||The corporate team should get he furniture out of the lobby. Six weeks, and it is a hazard for small children. I've been traveling for business for over 45 years; this makes no sense to me. I do understand rooms that need to be upgraded, this is a burden to the staff to answer the question when the furniture will be removed from the lobby.

I booked this room out of desperation. Our bathroom Reno was talking longer than expected and I just needed a quick, local, 2-day, pet- friendly solution. The kid at the front desk was very nice. He gave me my key, I went to my room, took a look around and went right back down and asked to cancel my reservation. Just as before, the staff member was very accommodating. I suspect this isn’t the first time it’s happened to him. The floors seemed dirty, the elevator was grimy and the room looked like it hasn’t been cleaned in months. Only the beds were made. At $375 for a 2 night stay, I expected way more than this. At the very least, a nice clean room. Don’t do it unless you have no choice.
