Extended Stay America Select Suites- Lexington Park - Pax River

I recently stayed at Extended Stay America and unfortunately it was not what I expected. The property itself feels very rundown and is definitely in need of remodeling. The carpets are in desperate need of a deep cleaning or replacement, and overall the accommodations were below what I was anticipating. One thing to be aware of is that the front desk is only open from 9am–10pm during the week and 10am–10pm on the weekends, which can be inconvenient if you need assistance outside of those hours. There is also no coffee or continental breakfast offered. You are required to purchase a one-time-use pan set and dishware, and you must request any additional essential items. There is even a daily charge for towels, which was disappointing and not clearly what I expected when booking. That said

I'm a regular here, so my review will be not only be enjoyable but accurate. The Mgt., is the best part of staying at ESA/Lexington Park, Md. They are not only professional, but friendly, polite, and helpful! The hotel is clean, quiet, and most of all Children & Pet friendly! 😉 Security is a staple, and the location is further back off of the main thoroughfare, (three notch road), surrounded by trees. Restaurants and Shopping are abundant as well as the Putuxtant Naval Base Museum and Historical St. Mary's College and City. Rates are very reasonable, and the suites allow for "extended stays" with kitchenettes available. At this time of the season, if you're traveling through, please consider ESA, it's the best time of the year.

I stayed here for 30 days...I should have booked an Air BNB, the main reason I selected this slightly upgraded motel was because I have a cat and I was familiar with the area. The lobby smells of stale smoke and the 2nd and 3rd floor have a distinct animal urine, smoke and what has to be the most foul smelling foods imaginable. They checked the smoke detectors in the rooms which they failed to mention before hand and as I was washing my hair they had a "scheduled" fire drill, however they didn't inform the guests. Since they just checked the alarms an hour early and didn't mention a drill, I tripped as I got out the tub in a panic with shampoo in my eye. Since we have been here they had to change out the refrigerator four times. Causing us to losing expensive medicine, Ozempic, insulin and refrigator food items. Cleaning is surface cleaning only. You have to have your own pots, pans, dishes, cups and utensils. BUT ON THE BRIGHT SIDE- Shay at the front desk is friendly, professional, knowledgeable and she has a smile, bright as sunlight.
