Extended Stay America Select Suites- Atlanta - Chamblee

Roaches. Yes, roaches. That alone should tell you everything. I stayed at Extended Stay America - Atlanta - Chamblee, and the conditions were completely unacceptable. This location LOOKS NOTHING LIKE THE PHOTOS ! The room smelled strongly like cigarettes the entire time. The walls were disgusting and looked like they had never been wiped down stains and spills everywhere. The bathroom had hair all over it and clearly had not been properly cleaned. The floors didn’t appear to be swept or mopped. The bathroom walls had visible mildew. My blanket was supposed to be white, but it was so dirty it looked grey. Overall, the room felt unsanitary and poorly maintained. I would not stay here again, and I would not recommend it to anyone expecting even basic cleanliness.

I stayed here from Sunday to Thursday, and my entire stay was extremely uncomfortable. My children and I had no heat the entire time, even after reporting it twice. Each time I was told a maintenance request would be submitted, but no one ever showed up. Not having heat with kids is unacceptable. I also noticed roaches here and there, usually when leaving my room. While it wasn’t an infestation, it was still disturbing and made the stay feel unsanitary. Walls are super thin, I heard my neighbors entire convos so im sure they heard mine as well. The internet is horrible. I couldn’t stream on the TV, my laptop barely worked, and my phone service was weak in the room. I’m a student, and the Wi-Fi was so unreliable that it was difficult to complete schoolwork. The free Wi-Fi really costs $2.50 per hour. The free breakfast consists of a small muffin in a sealed plastic bag and a paper sack with oatmeal. There is no coffee in the room. Although the suite has a full kitchen, the paper bag with oatmeal cannot be prepared because there are no utensils in the kitchen to measure water to mix with the oatmeal, and no bowls to cook the oatmeal in the microwave. The air conditioner/heater for the room didn't produce any heat. I should have stayed in the Motel 6 just down the street. I've stayed in that motel before, which compares very favorably to this Extended Stay America property.

Positive: The staff was attentive, especially the Manager! Negative: There was a certain stench coming from the next door occupant. Cat litter or something of that nature. I was told an elderly lady was staying & had cats!

The rooms were clean, comfortable, and had everything necessary to feel settled instead of just “checked in.” The location was convenient, quiet, and well-kept. But what really made this experience stand out was Candis at the front desk. From the moment I walked in, she greeted me with a warm smile and an energy that could honestly brighten anyone’s day. She was professional, patient, and incredibly helpful — answering all my questions and making sure I was taken care of. Candis has that rare combination of efficiency and genuine personality.
