El Royale Hotel Near Universal Studios Hollywood

We had a great experience at El Royale Garden. The room was clean, spacious and the beds were comfortable. Parking is right in front of the room, which is very convenient, and it’s free and feels safe with gated access. Housekeeping cleaned the room every day. Coffee and muffin in the lobby for breakfast. I was a bit hesitant after reading some reviews, but we didn’t have any uncomfortable interactions with staff. I’m not a very chatty person, and too much interaction makes me anxious, lol, so this was a relief. The tall, polite receptionist greeted us and made check-in quick and easy. We arrived late and tired, so that was especially appreciated. We stayed for two nights and used Uber to get to Universal Studios, it was about $10. It's a motel and not a hotel. The only positive thing about this motel is that it is walking distance from the Universal Studios and the subway. The motel looks run down and needs an uplift. The staff is never seen. The only guy available says that he doesn't know anything, because he is just the gardner. The room that we were allotted had lots of issues. The bathroom door wouldn't close easily. And couldn't be locked from inside. The wash basin tap was very tight and will break very soon. The shower tap was very loose and will fall off soon. The edges of the bed were very sharp. I hit my leg at least twice. Definitely, an injury lawyer will get business here soon. No meals available. We had a perfect day. It's a ideal place close to Universal Studios. Highly recommended. The room is very nice and clean and the owner left us to parking there longer during our stay in Universal Studios.

The staffs are warm and humorous, though we arrived late at night, they served us with passion and professionalism. The place is clean and spacious, of walkable distance to USH (with aid of shuttle bus near metro), but we chose to drive there eventually. (They also offered us day parking while we're at USH though we didn't get to utilise it in the end)

We had an excellent stay here during our trip to Universal Studios. The staff are remarkably friendly, welcoming, and accessible (thank you Xavier!). The rooms are in top shape and perfectly clean, and a simple but filling breakfast is offered, which really helped with getting us to the theme park bright and early. It's an easy walk or ride to Universal or to the Metro station. There are a number of decent pubs and restaurants within a short walking distance. Great value, highly recommended.
