Eglin Extended Stay Hotel, a Howard Johnson by Wyndham

Ok. Let me start this out by saying, you get what you pay for…..usually. I had no illusions that a $59 a night hotel would be any more than a 3 Star, $59 a night hotel. First of all, the 2 gentleman at the front desk were very kind. The younger one was in training, so it took a little longer, but I didn’t mind. You have to learn somehow. The lobby was clean albeit a bit outdated, again…$59. At least it was a hotel as advertised and not a hotel/bistro/hair care center with a concentration on front end alignments. The room. I was pleasantly surprised. When you get to the hotel it is obvious they are in the middle of remodeling. I was happy to see that we got one of the remodeled rooms. New carpet, new tile, new fixtures, big TV, hot water in the shower, comfortable enough bed. But….dude….DU

Very nice check in staff The biggest bummer was finding out that the coffee machine was broke,so no morning coffee 😡 what's worse was the hotel was NOT making any effort to get a replacement. We had to buy our own instant coffee to make in our room. Offering free breakfast was one of the main reasons I chose this hotel 😢

Definitely do not recommend this hotel. It was dirty, had black mold on the ceiling (they painted it black to hide it), had multiple cockroaches in the rooms, and the service was horrible. I am convinced they barely clean the rooms there as there was leftover change from the previous guest sitting on the fridge in our room. We saw 3 cockroaches the second night prompting us to ask for a different room, which we received, only to find more cockroaches in the new room. To top it off, when I confronted the guy at the front desk about the roaches he “didn’t believe me.” After receiving the new room I took pictures and requested a refund for the night as we didn’t stay there. I got the refund but I wouldn’t feel right not saying something about it. Do not stay here.

I don’t normally leave reviews, but this stay was so awful I felt compelled to warn others. From the moment I walked in, I regretted booking here. The room had chipping paint, a musty smell, and to top it off—cockroaches. Multiple. Crawling across the desk like they paid rent. The bathroom was a nightmare. There was actual poop floating in the toilet when I arrived, and the water pressure was so weak I could barely rinse my hands off. The staff seemed genuinely annoyed to be doing their jobs. This place should be inspected by the health department. It’s dirty, poorly maintained, and the customer service is nonexistent. Do yourself a favor and stay literally anywhere else.

I'm not impressed with the place you are over charged and the rooms were not like the way they are claiming the money for it to be like this is the last time I get it and then I had to leave the room because worker was starting crap
