Econo Lodge Montgomery South I-65

Very, very clean and quiet. Wonderful mattress and pillows. Absolutely NO bugs as stated in other reviews. Location was right off the interstate. There was splotchy paint on the bathtub and the flip lock on the door was broken. For the price, I would definitely stay here again. Please replace the broken flip lock on the door in Room 105.

Every upstairs window screwed shut. This is a safety issue so I chose not to stay. Additionally the room was very dirty with stains all over the walls and black mold on the baseboards. The front desk staff was understanding and offered to move me but I didn't feel safe staying at a place like this.

Although the bed, desk and bath counter top seemed new, the baseboards and overall outside appearance were not good at all. It wouldn't have taken much to have painted the baseboards & replaced the bath vanity also. Of course, the traffic noise can't be controlled, the loud music on site, could have been addressed. Price was cheap, so we knew it might not be the greatest, but did think being a newly acquired Choice motel, it would have been totally remodeled.

Desk clerk doesn't listen, I told him we were both handicapped. He insisted on me seeing the room and walking to it. I did not want to I wad tired and we had an early appt. I walked to it and back and I was out of breath and irritated as I am a fall risk. It was not necessary. Lodge is 200 ft off main road barely poorly lit. There was a tiny sign that could not be seen. Room was obviously old with an odor. I almost fell out of the chair as it had no back stop. The bed slopes outward. and I nearly fell out of that as support for it is lacking. AC is poorly situated and air was coming out too close to me in bed. Not enough outlets for this day and age. No UCB outlets. Nightstand too small. Never again.

Definitely a one-star property. Very rundown. Exterior doors to the building don't lock. Lots of people just hanging around the parking lot at night. Potholes on the driveway leading into the place which could swallow a truck. Kudos, however, to the man behind the counter who worked hard to move us into a room with two beds to better accommodate our party. The room had been recently remodeled and he said we were the first ones to use the new beds. He was awesome - and it's his work which bumps this rating from one star - to two.
