Econo Lodge Inn & Suites Sealy

Let me preface by saying, I sat in the parking lot and looked over the reviews, decided no, started driving off, then stopped to look one last time to be sure … changed my mind and decided to give it a try. Check in was smooth, courteous. I have a disability with a service dog and they accommodated me without issue for a bottom room. Walked in, room was clean, bed was comfortable, bathroom was clean, not a single bug anywhere, and AC worked great. There’s a BBQ place, a convenience store, and Starbucks practically in the same parking lot with a small parking area for trucks. I am not paid for reviews, I get nothing in return. Bare bones. No Hair dryer in room. No ice maker on premises towels were thin, worn and stained. Breakfast scanty. New paint over rotted bathroom door bottom. Bed was adequately comfortable. This hotel is filling the niche for very inexpensive and barely adequate room. Only 3 cars in parking lot. It was better than a camping shelter. I would only recommend to someone who is trying hard to save money.

The room was just gross. The desk was dirty (food residue). I had three towels, one very dirty (like soil), the other one full of yellow stain. The clean one was so dry and rough. At night, I found bugs on my pillow. Breakfast was just a coffee machine and a few packages sweets, very basic. The room had a very bad smell of smoke too.

Worst hotel I’ve ever stayed at. ANT INFESTATION that they are 100% aware of but refuse to address per hotel staff. We couldn’t put anything on the ground our whole stay, even had ants in the bathtub. It was so bad we requested a new room and told we would receive a discounted rate due to this issue but never received that and the new room had ants as well. Only had 2 towels all weekend (that were so rough it scratched our skin) and staff was unable to get more towels due to no access to laundry room. Room was cleaned but bed sheets/etc were not even changed. “Free breakfast” was a joke. Hotel advertised that there was a pool but upon arrival we found the pool was closed, due to it being back filled in with dirt. On top of it, our room was 82 degrees upon arrival and took 4 & a half hours

Econolodge by Choice Hotels. Sealy, Texas. This is not a hotel, this is a motel. The room door opens to the parking lot, no central lobby. You get four walls, a bed with stained sheets, stained bath towels, window, mini refrigerator, microwave, couch with small foot ottoman, and table with chair. Nightly rates are somewhat reasonable, they offer truck and trailer parking, and plenty of restaurants nearby. Check-in process was slow and frustrating, front desk had technical difficulties finalizing reservation. Room itself looks recently remodeled, despite minor imperfections and poor cleanliness. Don't have high expectations... YMMV.
