Econo Lodge Inn & Suites Rockmart

Everything was good about our experience except the state of upkeep. The manager (owner?) was accommodating and hospitable, the hotel and our room appeared clean, it was set back from the highway so it was quiet, the bed and pillows were comfortable, and it offered breakfast. However, when we tried to open the chest of drawers the drawer front fell off and there was no drawer, the bed sheet was torn, the toilet seat was dinged up and discolored (but clean), and the shower curtain rod was put on wrong--instead of curving out it curved down so the curtain kept sliding down to the middle. It is a shame because this is otherwise a nice budget motel with much to recommend it. It is not close to the Silver Comet Trail, and you have to get on busy thoroughfares to reach it from the trail.

Staff is friendly, but upon entering our room we saw it was not finished being cleaned. Whoever had cleaned left the broom, a swept up pile of garbage, and a sopping wet rag on the floor. When we left for the event we were in town for, we let the very nice front desk ladies know and headed on our way. When we returned hours later, our room door was left open for who knows how long. Thankfully, nothing was missing from our things. All in all, the staff is very polite and friendly but I wouldn't recommend it.

Housekeepers are great, they keep this place running, but management is terrible. No one is ever at the front desk have to wait for long periods of time to check in because manager is not on site. Contact info is on counter so you can let him know you are there. We had bed bugs in our room and roaches.

Great experience with the staff and the whole hotel surrounding. The local people here are great and the local Restaurants are friendly.
