Econo Lodge Darien Lakes

Was traveling with my husband and 18 month old daughter when we hit lake effect snow. It was so blinding that we had to pull off the highway for safety reasons and booked a very reasonable hotel room for a night here. The woman at the front desk was such a sweet person, and even brought us a pack-n-play crib and blankets for our baby to sleep safe and sound all night. Room was clean. Only downside was no breakfast; just coffee. But there is a Tim Hortons down the road! This hotel was a lifesaver! Good experience. :)

Honestly, the staff are wonderful. They were friendly but quite frankly this hotel is outdated. I realize it's the only hotel near Darien Lake theme park but for the cost of the room ($240 I think I paid) it was old and dirty. And I don't mean dirty in the sense of the maids not cleaning. I think when you have an old hotel you can clean for 8 hrs and it's going to feel dirty because things should have been replaced years ago. The curtains and carpet. The tub/shower was insane too. The pressure was awful. I know the night I stayed the hotel was fully booked. In my opinion for the money being made Econo Lodge needs to start putting some of that back into the property. But again your staff were wonderful. I would only stay there again if I absolutely had to.

The room was clean, the beds were comfortable. The pillows weren't comfortable, but that's not a big deal. The staff were pleasant and courteous. The hotel is older and it's easy to see that, but not a big deal either. The bathroom fan comes on every time you turn on the light. It sounds like a tractor trailer rig is in the bathroom. It's very jarring. Especially when one of us is up at night to go to the bathroom. It's easy to hear people outside and in other rooms. There was a smell. I'm not sure what it was. It wasn't apparent until I laid down. Whatever it was it got my allergies going. I had difficulty getting to sleep and woke up congested with blurry eyes. They had fresh hot coffee out when I woke up and it was delicious.

Positive: Staff is amazing, so friendly, engaging with us and other customers. They shuttled us to and from Darien Lake for the concert we were attending. Negative: Our toilet was broken (my boyfriend used a paper clip to fix the chain). There was no tv remote in the room, but they did bring us one quickly after we called the front desk. Pillows are terrible, we used the couch pillows underneath the bed pillows.

Basic hotel but clean and friendly staff. No frills but very clean. Used it to stay in for a couple days with my kids to do Darien lake theme park. It was perfect for what we needed. Front desk woman at check in (late night) was very pleasant, even when I had to bug her a coupes times for extra pillows and extra towels. Would definitely stay again
