Customer Reviews
Very remote, which is very likable. Some great fishing spots close by. It's a great atmosphere for peace. And quiet, it gets an a plus.
A great camp with excellenp owners.||||A total of 5 cabins and a main lodge make up this small Maine camp with the owners residing on the premises. We have stayed here two years in a row for a total of 20 days with our now 10 and 8 year old kids. ||||The cabins are clean with comfortable matresses, full kitchen and bath, serviced with spring water.||||The rental motorboats are well kept and a good value. There are numerous large and small canoes as well as kayaks that are free of charge to use for a nice paddle or to fish from.||||The fishing is better than what I have expected for mid-August, with the times just before sunrise and just after dusk being producers of good size largemouth bass. The owner Justin is a registered Maine Guide whom we hired to guide us on the Penobscot River the
I have just come back from my seventh yearly trip with some family and friends. If you are looking to unplug (no cable, WIFI and very spotty cell service from AT&T) then this is the place to unwind. Justin and Loraine Morse are great people. We bring our own kayaks and float down the Penobscot River on several different sections. Justin has helped us with valuable information and has not steered us wrong. This year on several trips we averaged catching over 30 Smallmouth Bass each in a 4 hour drift. That amount is actually conservative, but we stopped counting after a while. The average size was well over 1 pound with several over 2 pounds. The fishing in the pond is great also. We usually go in August, so the best fishing in the pond is first thing in the morning or early in the evening.
Nice Place, we stayed in newer unit (duplex) which was nice (gas heat). did our own food - which we had to be a little creative due to limited items for food prep, next time will get the food plan (American plan). Folsom pond is nice, caught more fish off the dock in 1 hour than I have in a week at other places. Owner are great. Convenient to town for supply trips but feels like your hours away from civilization. A lot of return customers, this tells you something. No TV, which is great.
This place is a real gem in the north woods of Maine. They call it a fishing lodge but it is really a lot more than that. Don't get me wrong the fishing is awesome and Justin the owner is happy to tell you were the big fish are. But the eagle camp is a great place for a family vacation if you like to swim, kayak, canoe or just relax and watch the loons and bald eagles this is the place for you.The Morse's who own the lodge are very accommodating and let you enjoy there beautiful camp the way that you choose to. There are plenty of canoes and kayaks for all and motor boat rentals for a fair price. So if you like to fish, kayak or just relax be sure not to miss the eagle lodge & camps!
