Doyles Guest House

Very close to downtown. We had an efficiency that was old fashioned with personality and very clean. Throwback to the 1930s. We were so happy it still existed. Had kitchen with stove, oven, refrigerator, microwave and all dishes and pots and pans. Bed was comfortable. We shared a bath with one other room but all the towel racks were marked with the room number and it was very big. This will be our go to place when staying in Montpelier.

Currently staying here. I have #3 with two twin beds. It is very quaint and quiet here. The owners are super nice and try to accommodate your needs. I have all I need in my room for a superb stay for my 12 week travel assignment!!

I've given Doyle's four stars in comparison to all possible lodgings in the area. For what it is--a classic guest house--it warrants the full 5 stars.||||Neither a ritzy hotel, nor a cookie-cutter motel, nor a fancy B&B, a guest house is a concept I don't think most Americans know about. ||||A friend described Doyle's as "something like Aunt Bee would run in Mayberry." It's homey and well maintained. The lodgings are best suited to people who need to stay for a while. Most of them have at least rudimentary kitchen facilities. Some have shared baths, some private baths.||||I've stayed in two rooms at Doyle's and seen a third. I'm a Traveling RN and found a decent priced room in Montpelier. GREAT Location, walking distance for all downtown area. Quaint old fashion quest house. Rooms are clean and neat. has cable and wifi. private bathroom.

Travelling alone to Montpelier for a ten mile race, I did not want to spend a lot of money but wanted to be conveniently located to the downtown area. Two blocks from the main area of Montpelier, Doyle's Guest house delivered on both of these requests. My room had its only bath and two twin beds. The decorations are what you would expect to see in your Vermont Grandmother's house thirty years ago but the place was both clean and comfortable. My room had a toaster oven, microwave, frig and silverware and dishes. There was even a corkscrew provided.
