DoubleTree by Hilton San Francisco Airport North Bayfront

We stayed at DoubleTree by Hilton San Francisco Airport North Bayfront last night and had a wonderful experience, especially thanks to Natalie at the front desk. Before arrival, I contacted the hotel regarding a possible upgrade, and Natalie was extremely kind and professional. She explained that the hotel was very full but assured me she would do her best. I also mentioned that this stay was for a birthday celebration. To our surprise, at check-in Natalie upgraded us to a bay-view room (although suites were completely sold out) and even prepared a thoughtful birthday welcome bag to celebrate with us. Stayed here 2 nights. Experience was fine , customers service was fast & friendly and friendly texts throughout my stay which was nice. Hotel room was a little dated but for the price it's expected. My only complaint is the hotel walls are paper thin all night, I was hearing the people next to us, coughing and early in the morning they woke up and was talking very loud, which I can hear clearly in my room. We did not use the pool or fitness center we did go look at it ,both looked clean. Just wish the restaurant onsite offered a la carte items for breakfast. They offer a breakfast buffet which we were not interested in. Overall stay was good ,reasonable price room, friendly service & hotel was clean.

We booked double bed but since we’re not a Hilton member and booked thru 3rd party, we’re second class citizens. They said they have to give our room to the member first. They give us a rolling bed but the mattress was awful. Location is great unless you have a car don’t stay here because they don’t airport shuttle service. Over it was bad experience, we booked tonight but cancel 2nd night and went to stay at another hotel.

The hotel is a basic doubletree hotel. It’s fine. Nothing to write home about. However, I do have to post here about the exorbitant parking costs. This might be buried in the hotel notes on Hilton.com when you book, but $45 plus $1 “convenience fee” to park the car is downright robbery. At a minimum, it’s unethical. It’s a cash grab and done in such a way that they get you in by a low hotel rate and then they charge you this amount. And it’s not like you are paying for security or anything. Nope—the only security they have are “park at your own risk” signs. No security that I saw, no valet, no fences or entrance / exit gates. Just a $46 cash grab. This may be normal for this area—I haven’t checked other hotels. But it is wrong. As a basis of comparison, as I write this in March, 2026

I was disappointed by the overpromise and underdeliver by the staff. I am a gold member for Hilton and was supposed to receive $15 credit for myself and my girlfriend, which would be $30 credit. I asked the receptionists in the morning on 3/7/26 that I wanted to double check that I have that credit and they confirmed that we would receive it. We had breakfast at the hotel. The next morning when I checked out, they said we wouldn’t receive it since we booked from Expedia. Technically we booked from Chase Travel but not sure how their systems work. I asked them to see if they could honor the credit since it was promised by the same two receptionists the day before. They said it’s automatic in the system and cannot be honored.
