Desert Sand Resort

I come here with my hubby & sons every year. They still love coming with us even now that they are adult men. We enjoy how friendly the staff is. Plus the people who clean the rooms. Rooms are always clean. Plus right across from the beach. Plus a very nice pool on the premises. We enjoy that there is alot of things here to do. Miniature golf the Greyhouse Poker Palace. Some great places to eat as well.

Could not say anything bad or negative about our stay. We were welcomed into a fully furnished room, which was very clean and cozy. From the paint color to the decor it was more than we expected. They did a great job with our late check in , Jessica was pleasant to communicate with, and two blocks away from the beach. What more can you ask for , if you’re looking for the best overall value and amenities Desert Sand is the place to go !!! 😁😁🤩🤩 🔥

We stayed in Unit 228 which was very spacious, very clean and nicely decorated. This unit has 2 bathrooms and washer/dryer combo unit which are nice features. Our only complaint was the bright light from outside that kept the bedroom lit up at night because the blinds in the windows did not cover the entire windows and there are no curtains. Staff were very friendly.

We visit Avalon-Stone Harbor a few a year and have stayed at various places. Desert Sand definitely stands out. We booked 2 rooms and had a 3-night stay. Both rooms had 2 queen-sized beds in the bedroom and more than enough room to move around. There was also a pull-out sofa in the living room. The bathrooms were a good size. The kitchenette was very useful. The room was very clean. The staff was friendly, professional, and helpful. We arrived a little early and they offered to text us as soon as the room was ready. Both the indoor and outdoor pools were awesome; very clean and well maintained. The elevator was a blessing! A block from the beach and a very quiet resort. We will definitely make this our only place to stay in Avalon.

The only suggestion I have is I think it would be helpful If it was brought up at the owners meetings that grab bars in the bathroom would be a good idea. It wouldn't be a large expense and I think it would make for a safer and more accommodating visit, particularly for older guests. Jessica in the office is excellent. Kudos to Sandy and Brian as well. Customer Service focus has improved over the last few years, due to these folks and the other members of the staff Mary Anne and Ron Kims Gibsonia PA
