Deer Creek Cabin

Very nice cabin with a very well stocked kitchen accessory wise. Keurig and traditional coffee makers, crockpot, blender and every type of glass and dish you can think of. Nice fire pit stocked with wood. 15 mins from Fall Creek Falls State Park. Plenty of beds and a fireplace

If I could give it zero stars, I would. I woke up at 5am with a BAT one me! I caught him in a towel and took him outside, but now my whole family needs rabies shots. Even before the bats got in, we couldn't sleep due to them squeaking and scuttling around in the roof. There was another bat in the house that my brother had to catch and throw outside. There was guano all over the porch. We have pictures and videos. There was pink mold on the shower curtain upstairs. The downstairs Jacuzzi bath shot out black mold when we turned it on. We had to wash dishes in the cabinet before we could use them, because they were all filthy. The property advertises a hot tub outside, but there isn't one. At first things appeared to be expected. After the first night there we quickly realized that we were not the only guests, little critters were staying with us as well. Be aware of mouse droppings in the kitchen area. New droppings were found every morning. Every night you could hear the mice scamper in the ceiling, it was enough the last night that my sister could not sleep in the upstairs bedroom. We did find mice droppings in one of the kids beds in the bedroom with two beds. Mice can be expected to a point however this seemed like a little more than a change of season mice problem. Hopefully they remedy this issue soon before anyone else rents it.

Be weary, this place was infested with bats. You could hear them chirpping and rustling throughout the day. Two of them got inside the cabin during the night. Due to this, our entire 9 person family (including two children) had to get the rabies vaccine because of close contact with them. Our vacation had to be cut short due to this experience. Ensure you contact the owner prior to booking to see if the bat infestation has been dealt with.
