Days Inn by Wyndham Lamont/Monticello

I visit my brother occasionally in Bonifay FL near the Alabama border. I drive there after work on Fridays. This hotel is my stopping point after 4 hours of driving. My destination is 2 hours from here. I like the hotel because it is right next to I-10, gas stations and fast food if you want it. I travel with my dog and there are a lot of grassy spaces to walk her around this area. The hotel is pet friendly with a fee. The room price is reasonable unless the nearby colleges are having games. Then, the price is in the crazy zone. The rooms are clean, but the sofa had some stains so I made sure I let the desk know so that my dog wasn’t a suspect. 🙂 The best part about this hotel is the lovely lady who has the desk at night. Rated this at what I expect for a motel at this price. The room was clean, stocked fresh towels, bed very comfortable, right amount of bed covers, AC cold, etc. Cannot say much for a breakfast, but then I don’t go to motels for meals! Coffee good! Employees nice and friendly, quiet place to get some rest! Had a little problem with the TV, but was too tired to watch anyway! Overall…pleased! PS…the pool out of commission if you have kids wanting to swim!!!

This motel was our only option as a bad storm was about to hit. Was given attitude checking in because we had kids and accidentally booked the default 2 adults as we were rushing to find a safe place to beat the massive storm front coming through. The room was two queens so it had plenty of space for the kids. I understand this was on me but I’ve never had a lodging place so rude about it. The room wasn’t clean. Comparable to an extended stay lodging but priced the same as chains like comfort inn, Hampton inn, etc. The location wasn’t the best. McDonald’s nextdoor was nice to have but didn’t have the greatest experience. Service there was awful too. Bathtub glazing coat was peeling off. Tried to keep my shoes on the whole time. Small room. This hotel is right off of I 10, making it a perfect place to stop. The rooms are renovated and clean. Breakfast is small but a good start to the day. The pool is not usable at this time. The front desk attendant was joyful and helpful.

Very reasonable, right off 10, quiet, great clean bed, pillows and linens. Remodeled, but older. Relatively clean but I judge cleanliness in general if they clean behind the bathroom door. Did not pass the test, even the inside of the door was slopped with something. Free breakfast is really lacking. Oatmeal, grits, or packaged Danish. But I'd stay again.
