Dalton House

We stayed at the Dalton House while in town hunting. The rooms were great for what we needed! They were very spacious and included a mini fridge and microwave. There was also a desk area which we used to eat at. The TV was small but had tons of channels. The ac didn't get as cold as we would have liked so we bought a fan to help out and we were comfortable. Everything was very clean which we appreciated! The area is very quiet and safe. The parking lot is well lit. We will definitely be back again!

I've stayed at the Dalton House several times now and have been very satisfied. This motel has been an anchor business in the local economy for 40+ years. It has always been neat and orderly when I've stayed here. The rooms are clean and comfortable. It is close to quaint downtown Columbia and even closer to the Cypress Cove Marina. This makes it a destination motel for fishermen and hunters. I've had the pleasure to speak with the owner on every stay and have found him to be extremely attentive to my family's needs. He has a servant's heart and is 100% devoted to his customers and his community. In Columbia NC there are not a lot of hotel options. I was booked in this hotel by a 3rd party. The key was handed to me by the business I was dealing with. After staying there I understood why. |||| It is bare bones. The hotel is not staffed regularly. I never saw anyone that worked there during my 4 day stay. The lobby was never staffed there was a notice on the door to call a cell phone if there was a problem. I went to the office once and there was no one there. ||||The hotel was dirty outside for sure and inside as well. I walked into the room where the heat was turned off even though it was winter. The carpet was not vacuumed when I arrived nor was it vacuumed while I was there. I tried not to look too closely. ||||The trash was only emptied once after it was full. There was no hair

I am big on a staying in a clean room, and the room was clean. No complaints on cleanliness. Room is outdated but this hotel is fine to stay out for a couple days. Has a nice shower. Only complaint really is that the door was hard to get into and it was really dirty right outside the door.

My family has stayed twice here. We enjoyed our time. Quiet area no distractions. We loved it. They are near the main highway but not right on top of it. As I said it was peaceful and we enjoyed. Some good food, couple of miles down the road. Your close to public water access at every turn. Beautiful area
