Crystal Peak Lodge

Terribly shabby furniture let’s the property down. We stayed in room 102 and the furniture was appalling. I will upload photos that show the lounge has collapsed and you sit on the springs, the arm on the one seater have collapsed. All the timber furniture is badly marked and the blinds are broken. This is a Vail property and it’s simply not good enough. It’s a shame as the property is otherwise good and the lift access is brilliant. Don’t stay here.

The Crystal Peak location is fantastic but the service and the condition of the rental units are terrible. We rented a three bedroom and a two bedroom and both fell far short of our expectations. To start, the rooms weren’t cleaned properly. The units were not properly equipped with appliances and supplies. Additionally, so many items were broken or missing. For example, furniture and fixtures were missing, the lights didn’t work in the kitchen, the shower heads are clogged, the windows are broken, the rugs are filthy and stained, the window blinds are broken, and the list goes on. We even found old food in the sofa - so gross. To make matters worse, our complaints went unanswered. Bottom line - the pictures on the website do not mirror the true condition of the units. My wife and I have been staying at Crystal Peak Lodge for over 15 years and noticed over the years the rooms have gradually been neglected to a point where we will never stay there again and wouldn't recommend this to anyone considering a stay. Management also demonstrates virtually no interest in repairing or replacing the issues that occur within these rooms.

I stayed here for a week and had not one but TWO incidents of vandalism to my car in their secure underground garage. Despite communications with their security team, who were very kind and professional, I have not received a follow-up from anyone. Frankly, I am a little surprised that Vail Resorts would not take something like this more seriously.

I had to check in at the affiliate hotel down the road because there was no front desk service at this hotel in the summer, I was told. Staff at the affiliate hotel were very friendly and helpful. I was charged $200.00 as a damage deposit on 7/22. It is now 8/2, and it still hasn't dropped off my credit card, but at least the staff warned me ahead of time. The coffee maker was defective. The room was nice, well furnished, well laid out, and quiet with a nice balcony.
