Crystal Brook Resort & Mountain Brauhaus

We enjoyed our stay here. The rooms were a bit dated but very clean. The beds were super comfortable and the sheets felt new, very crisp. My family stayed in three rooms in the cottage behind the Brauhouse. Rooms were spacious and we loved the deck that surrounded them where we could sit and hang while the children played. Breakfast every morning was made to order and excellent. Our dinners at the Brauhouse were excellent. We enjoyed eating on the deck. The pool was gigantic. Everyone loved it.

Happened to come across this on Google Maps, and we'd been craving German food, so thought let's give it a try. Made our way there, and the atmosphere is definitely German, which is cool! The waitresses wear dirndls, as well. VERY friendly folks, and quite personable. The bar seems to be popular with regulars / locals, which is cool. A bit loud, but didn't bother us.||We were told they had additions to the regular menu of Jaegerschnitzel and Rouladen. Now, I love me some of both! So hubby got the Schnitzel, while I got the Rouladen, with a plan on letting each other have a few bites.||I have to say, I was rather disappointed with the Rouladen. All that I've had in the past - including living in Germany for seven years - it was never served in a thick gravy, but rather more of a beef broth

My wife has been talking about going to New York to look at the foliage in the fall for about 25 years. This year I decided to surprise her with a weekend away to the Catskills. I found Crystal Brook Resort and Mountain Brauhaus and the German theme was different, so we decided to give it a try. It was a lot of fun. The room in the cottage was excellent. It was clean, comfortable, and just nice. We took a walk on the property and saw the waterfall in the woods. The next day we went for a ride through the mountains and saw some great sites, including a really cool waterfall. The owner, Wendy was very hospitable and pleasant to deal with. We had a large group stay this past weekend for a memorial bike ride we planned around the Catskill region. Wendy (one of the owners of the resort) was very accommodating with our room booking and any changes we made. To be expected with a large group coming from different areas, there was last minute changes of how many nights, cancelations, etc. They were completely understanding and were able to help with such requests. Breakfast was included in our stays which made for a convenient morning before hitting the road each day. They offer eggs made fresh to order, as well as a rotation of breakfast foods.
