Cross Country Center

A wonderful location for cross country skiing with a rental on site. A few tracks are available for both types of skiing. The tracks are well maintained, wide and comfortable. Like almost everything in California, the service is rather expensive. You have to pay for the daily pass & rental. For 2 people it was around 140. Staff is welcoming and nice to talk to.

Love it! It was our first time there, took my dog with me, and it was great. The trails are groomed and easy but challenging. One of the times I was there, it was the first time they opened after closing for weather, the only thing is that they do not post that in their website (when they close for weather) so make sure you call! Everyone in the rental place is super nice and helpful. If you can make it during the weekday, the place will be mostly yours 😉

One of the best places to go cross country skiing! Beautiful area & has trails for all levels. Be careful not to drive to the wrong place as I did, but was easily pointed in the right direction. Only reason I am rating this 3 stars is because of one of the employees that was not friendly at all. She was not accommodating or friendly at ALL when we were just barely late for a lesson, when she realized we had dogs, or when we were told we could switch out our cross country skis for skate skis & she said we couldn’t. Was just rude all around! Slightly ruined my attitude for the whole activity since my friend & I had never cross country skied.

I recently left my drone on one of the trails in the snow. I called and one of the employees closed up early just so he could go out and look for it for me. He also called me to let me know weather conditions and when would be best for me to pick it up. I super appreciate this guy!!! He deserves a raise! It was super busy when I picked it up and I wasn’t able to tell him thank you. But I appreciate his efforts a bunch. ✨

I wish it was cheaper, but I can't stay away! Haha! The equipment is in good shape and the trails are just stunning. I can't wait to get better at cross country skiing so I can get out onto the advanced trails. You can also rent and get a sno park pass for the Carson Pass area and get out into the back country on snow shoes. Just be sure you know where you're going! I had been out there in dry weather but didn't recognize some of the landmarks in the snow. This is some of the most beatiful land in California, IMHO.
