Crooked Creek Inn

My husband and I stayed at Crooked Creek for 2 nights and it was just like a home away from home. After a day of driving, the rustic modern, cozy room was so comfortable that we didn't even go our to dinner the first night. We took a 3 mile trip into Colden to get some deli items, then came back and opened the wine that Cal had supplied to enjoy a wonderful evening by the fire.||||The next morning we had coffee and muffins in our room by the windows that almost make you feel like you're in a treehouse. But that was just the start of breakfast. Cal made a huge, fabulous country breakfast that kept us full way past lunchtime. We stayed at this new b&b last month when we went skiing at Kissing Bridge and just loved it! It reminded us of our vacation a few years ago to Europe's Black Forest and the rustic yet elegant inn we stayed at there. Crooked Creek Inn is very warm and cozy, and peacefully nestled among the trees with a mountain view behind it which we could see from our room. The wine and hot beverages provided to us upon our return after a chilly day of being on the slopes was a welcome treat, as were the morning coffee and biscottis left at our door (especially since my husband is an early morning riser and has to have his coffee right away!). We took a daughter to Alfred University for her first year of college. We decided to keep traveling on to Niagara Falls. After a long day of unpacking, buying books, etc, we looked forward to a weekend away. Our stay was only one night, but it was terrific. Cal not only has a knack of decorating-making his B & B so cozy you don't want to leave, but couldn't be more accommodating. Wine, and a tray of cheese and crackers on our arrival. The jacuzzi tub was great! Coffee in the morning in our room, a wonderful breakfast, and nice conversation. We really enjoyed our stay and hope to be returning again soon.
