Country Motor Inn

My wife and I had our road trip plans derailed by a deer just past Livingston, and we had our car towed to an auto shop in town. Country Motor Inn was the next block over, so we had the driver drop us there late Saturday evening, knowing nothing about the motel. The manager was pleasant despite the late hour and got my wife, me and our dog into a room quickly. The prices were very reasonable, and we felt like we definitely got our money's worth. Clean sheets and room, and very helpful when we needed anything.

Positive: The staff was friendly, but I could not look past the terrible bed. The bed was unacceptably poor quality. People stay at a hotel to get a decent nights sleep. The bed was horrible. 9/4/25 - I'm almost positive every other motel I've stayed at has heat and A/C combined, usually in the form a window unit. I went to the office personnel to report that the heater was not working. There is thermostat that turns a heater on, but it only blew out room temperature air. I was given a long list of excuses as to why they don't have heat and some blankets. I was ignored twice when I asked for a space heater. This is unacceptable and the opposite of hospitality. The low for tonight is forecasted to be 40 degrees. I almost camped instead of coming here, which would have saved me about $79 and subjected me to similar temperatures. I will not return and may file a grievance with the city as heat is a requirement in Montana.

Motel was easy to locate and location was fine. Although on a major road, noise was not a problem. Check in was efficient and the staff friendly. We needed a large room for 5, which was generous in size and beds were comfortable enough. Fridge, coffee maker, and microwave were provided. No breakfast. There is a well stocked Town Pump / Exxon next door. |However, the bathroom door and frame had a large crack undermining privacy. There were loose wires in the room and outside. The stairway to this upstairs room and landing were in poor condition. The room and bathroom showed wear and tear (grout, joints, etc.) The price for this room was 75% higher than any of the 3 comparable rooms we rented on our road trip (SD, WY, MT) which made it a very disappointingly poor value for the money.

Very homey. King size bed was super nice for me, my husband, and our baby to share. We didn't need alot of space for just a night for our travel. Recommend. Nice walking distance for laundry and food. Liked that there was a coffee pot, but no cups were provided.
