Country Inn & Suites by Radisson, Murrells Inlet, SC

We booked through a 3rd party hotel engine after reading reviews that made it seem like an acceptable place to stay for one night. We arrived at appx 7:30pm to check in and we should have known from the disgusting cigarette filled bottles in the parking lot that this would not be a pleasant experience. We were given a room key and headed to our room to unpack. The elevator and hallway carpet was not only covered with trash, but was also sticky and gummy. We opened the door to our room and the beds were unmade, lights were on and it was clearly not cleaned. The front desk attendant apologized and offered another room. When we opened the door to the 2nd room the smell was nearly nauseating. The only positive thing in this experience was our full refund.

The hotel is conveniently located Murrells Inlet, South Carolina. Upon arrival, we noticed that the hotel was under reconstruction as it needed to be. Nothing worked there was no icemaker. There was no continental breakfast. There was no swimming pool for your entertainment. There was sketchy TVs the rooms were filthy. The halls were nasty. Everything was tore apart, dusty, dirty, and soiled. Debris everywhere.The receptionist was not helpful at all, and it was a horrible experience all around. Canceled the reservation I refused to stay the hotel reek of weed and I had a minor child with me as well. Went up beach to Surfside stayed at the quality Inn and it was beautiful, clean and accommodating same price. Don’t waste your time or money at the country Inn Radisson in Murrells Inlet it is

The maintenance guy they have working there is up to some illegal activity. He went into my room twice without my permission I payed the $50 fee for having a cat and he said to me that there isn’t a cat in my room and he needs me to check out the next day when I had the whole week payed for already. When I asked him how he knew I didn’t have a cat he said he went into my room and looked around for my cat. My cat is scared of everyone except me because he’s a rescue cat and had been abused so he was hiding under the bed as usual. When I spoke to a very nice lady that works there she was very angry that he went into my room and said that was unacceptable and she also confirmed I that I did pay the $50 pet fee already so she said she would speak to him about this. Stayed at many other Country Inn and Suites in NC. Have always been pleased. That is why I picked this one for this trip. This one is dirty, uninviting and not well kept. First thing I noticed was the smell of strong chemical smell. Maybe was suppose to be a deodorized odor but was awful. Staff is unfriendly, floors are nasty and the pool area?!? Gross. Continental breakfast was not stocked with necessary items. No syrup for waffles, no milk for cereal and when asked about it was told they did not have milk. We will not stay ever again. Pay extra to avoid this place!

There was renovation going on and I can see why. The carpets in the halls were very soiled, the tv in my room was akin to having a roof antenna as the stations were filled with static and intermittent picture. Location was important for me, so that made it convenient and the price was fair. Perhaps after the renovation I may stay again and the review will be better.
