We stayed for July 4th in Cabin 2. The Cabin is old but love the decor. The only issue I had was our bed was wet from leaks in the ceiling. I plugged in my charger on the wall next to the bed and by morning it was full of water. Thank God there was not an accident. The lake is so dry. Dont believe the pics on line because it looks so dry and old. We were there for one night and paid for two nights.
Very Nice. Would have gotten 5 stars if not for the location. The lake is dry at the north end and there is no water. So don't come here expecting to fish or take a dip in the lake. Glad we did not bring our poles or kayaks; the additional towels didn't take up much space. Our cabin (3) was recently renovated. Could use bug screens on the windows, else it was nice enough (see pictures). Our neighbor in Cabin 2 felt otherwise.
I love this place. The owners are caring people and take care of the property and the guests. Sadly the lake is down considerably, but it is still a relaxing place to stay and be far from the crowds of the city. The rooms are clean and well stocked. I come out here about every four or five months because it helps me recharge. I have brought friends out here several times. The owners are knowledgeable about activities in the area. Sometimes I bring friends and we make it a retreat with meditation and yoga and other similar practices to relax our minds and bodies.
Okay, so the lodge itself was supper clean and cute ..the decorations were, well you can tell they thought a lot about how to make you feel at home. The ladies that run the place SUPER nice. The reason I gave 4 stars is because the website could have mentioned that the lake was completely rescinded. It's not their fault for the drought along with the overuse of water and many new developments. We will definitely go back, maybe not for fishing, but for the peace..
This was our first time staying here, and my husband and a friend of ours stayed that night at Cabin 2, that was right at the water with its own private fishing dock. Although the water doesn’t quite reach up to that dock, you still have a dock right out from your door to use that is shared with other cabins. While we were there, we did not have anyone out there with us, it was a quiet weekend. The staff was very accommodating and great to speak to, from the phone to in person, and I would recommend if you want a home cabin feel with a quiet area set back into a cove, this would be it. We caught catfish, white bass, sunfish, and even had some friendly turtles and ducks stay away from our hooks. I recommend cleaning the fishing spider webs off before you make yourself comfortable on the doc
