Commander Motel

It's a clean place to sleep. Room is small. Parking is challenging when restaurant/bar is busy. Check-in is across the street behind the Pelican gas station.

Don't stay unless it is your last option. Poor service, no air in the room, booked two queen beds but we got one queen and a pullout couch, talked to the manager and she treated me like I was a kid. “Yah that is two beds, and that is what you get” stay away and travel into town, that is my 2 cents.

It was very loud due to the bar being attached to the motel so the thumping of the band went on for a while. Then the couple in the next room were fighting and yelling and due to the lack of a good door or sound proofing it kept us awake and of course was not pleasant to listen to. About 2:00 AM we went to the car to see if we had ear plugs. We came back into the room and turned the light on to put them in and saw bed bugs scrambling across the bed. So at 2:30 AM we were Googling another place to go stay. When we went to the office the next day to explain what happened they said oh well, that happens !!

Then there was a couple in the room next to us fighting and yelling and due to the lack of a good door or any sound proofing at all it was very loud and kept us awake. In an attempt to block out the noise about 2:00 AM we ran to the car to get ear plugs. When we switched the light on we saw bed bugs scattering in the bed. One of us were bit numerous times. So about 2:30 AM we were Googling another place to go stay. When we went to the office the next morning to report everything they said, well it happens.

My husband stayed here for work for a week, I had brought my kids to stay with him for the last weekend while I worked. He went to the main building to see about renting the room for another week, and then to take our children swimming. An employee told him “There are no pets allowed.” he said “okay that’s fine? We don’t have pets” then she proceeded to say “There are NO Pets allowed!” while gesturing towards our 2 little girls. Husband is complete shock by the disrespectful and unprofessional statement said “Those are my children, they are not pets” and she had chuckled & said “same thing” as she walked away.
