Upper Cullen Resort & Campground

We highly recommend this resort if you are looking for a quiet place to stay. It reminds me of how resorts at the lake used to be when I was a kid. They have a well stocked store and reasonable prices for all of your needs while staying at their resort. We look forward to a return visit. Matt and Patty Galles are a step above the rest!

What a beautiful area with cozy places to stay! We caught some great fish, enjoyed the eagles flying overhead, and made some great memories. Another bonus is the hospitality-what great staff! We hope to stay again!

Our family started at Upper Cullen Resort and Campground back in the late 80's. We stayed there for about 10 years, only stopping because our kids were too busy with summer activities. We re-started the tradition in 2017 for our grandkids. The family-run resort is the same as it was 35 years ago, which is PERFECT. Upper Cullen Resort and Campground has a peaceful environment on a quiet lake. Kids can catch many fish off the docks and there are great spots on the lake as well. Kids can look forward to a duck pond, multiple play areas, basketball hoop, badminton, shuffleboard, minnow races, potato sack races, ice cream socials, scavenger hunts, tractor wagon rides, and a very nice beach. Upper Cullen Resort is an incredible place that helps you come back to nature in the comfort and tranquility of a maintained campground. We stayed at a wonderfully secluded area known as "The Point". It was located directly next to the lake with a private dock showcasing the beauty of the lake and the breathtaking Minnesotan sky (especially during sunset!). The setting was so perfect and magical that it is where I proposed to my partner. With firewood, food, and amenities close by in the main lodge, it's easy to enjoy your vacation without worrying about missing essentials. There's washrooms with accompanying bathrooms conveniently located in the campgrounds. Furthermore the staff was very friendly, considerate, and passionate about their love and respect of nature.
