Comfort Inn Pine Grove I-81 Hershey Area

You’d wonder how this place is a 3 star hotel and who’s giving this place more than 1 star after you visit it for 10 minutes. We arrived around 8PM, there’s no one at the front desk, waited more than 20 minutes and had to ring the bell 50 times. Then bro showed up, told us the room we reserved, a king bed is not available, only 2 queens, and elevator is broken, have to climb the stairs. Okay. Time to suck it up and just take one. Walked through the hallway, a woman is smoking cigarettes sitting in the lobby. Opened the door and entered the room, smelled like cigarettes and a 1980s motel. Just go to a motel, it’s likely better than here.

Bedding was good. First they lost my reservation, which was confirmed online. Then rented my room. Had another available, of course more expensive. Only one TV channel and could not fix it. Went for breakfast. Nothing but one bagel. 2 pieces of sausage for about 40 people who checked in the night before. Waited over an hour. No breakfast.

We have stayed there many times over the past 20 years but were very disappointed with our recent stay. Management has allowed the hotel to be come run down. Several areas are in need of attention and repair. The bathroom fixtures were rusty, the walls and floors in the bathroom were a disgrace. Definitely not up to Comfort Inn standards. Breakfast was a joke.

The first thing I noticed when entering the building was the strong smell of urine, the lobby and hallway were filthy and in horrible condition. But I hoped the room would be better. The elevator smelled and was gross looking. Got to the room and the it looked and smelled so horrible. It was hard to breath the smell was so bad and the condition of everything was terrible, like one of those old run down $20 motels you see in movies. Only it was priced as if it were a nice hotel! There was SO MUCH hair in the beds but what really put me over the top was it looked like a line of dried up old vomit down the side of the bed skirt, I almost threw up myself seeing that. We had to leave and went to ask for another room. The front desk staff was really nice about it and got us another room right aw

There was no shampoo in my room! The carpet was lifting from the floor near the bathroom. The toilet paper holder and toilet paper were on the floor. There was stains all over the bathtub. The pools drain cover was up and off it and the pool hours were 7 AM to 7 PM which is very early to close the pool. I’ve stayed in this hotel before and I’ve never seen it like this. The room just really looks scrubby. I was in room 207. I was extremely appreciative that I was near an elevator due to being handicapped. The staff that worked Sunday night brought shampoo right to my room. He was very polite and apologetic for there being no shampoo in the room upon check-in. It just appears that the hotel is going downhill.
