Comfort Inn Glenmont - Albany South

The location is right across the bridge to Albany so it is very close to downtown with the added benefit of safety. Arrived at the Inn and was impressed with the lobby with high hopes. Got checked in and went to our room on the second floor. It had a terrible smell so we went back to the lobby. The nice man immediately gave us one of the renovated rooms on the first floor. The renovated room was much nicer, although some things could have been cleaner - mainly the couple fake eyelashes that were found in the bed. Other than that we were satisfied with the renovated room. In the morning, we went down to breakfast and were pleasantly surprised with the bountiful options - chobani yogurt, waffles, eggs, sausage, cereal, pastries..etc.

Positive: The rooms are rather nice and the breakfast is excellent I go here regularly.for the rates and what you get for your money is unprecedented. Negative: They needtofixthe jets on the hot tub its had the jets not working sign up for over 2 years now I think its time to get it running correctly

The customer service was wonderful upon checking in, even after having my own personal delays. The room was great. Very clean. The atmosphere of the hotel was wonderful as well as the location. Lastly, but not least the breakfast was great. All was in order very well. Kept good amount of food for the guests and the cleanliness of the area was exceptional. I look forward to going back myself and would recommend it to friends and colleagues who travel to that area. Thank you for the welcoming environment and lovely hotel.

Front desk staff when I checked in, was very accommodating, and filled my request to be in a room that was on the second floor and would be quiet. I greatly appreciated that. But the lower score was based off of the cleanliness of the room that I was given. I understand after checking out that I did not get a renovated room because another member of the wedding I attended had one and they raved and how nice it was. And I understand that older hotel rooms can look rundown, but that’s no excuse for leaving the room in a filthy condition. I have photos if you care to see.

I would never bring my kids here. The most basic expectation of a hotel — even before cleanliness or comfort — is that it is safe. This place does not meet that standard, and worse, does not seem to take it seriously. When I checked in, I was sent to a room where the door chain lock was broken. I went back to the front desk and was given another room — where the deadbolt didn’t line up and couldn’t be used. On top of that, the door could be opened without a key card at all. Anyone could have walked in. After raising this again, I was finally given a third room. The next day, I returned after being out for about nine hours to find my room door left slightly open, with the deadbolt disengaged — seemingly by housekeeping. My belongings were inside and completely exposed. Thankfully nothin
