Comfort Inn Duncansville - Altoona

Stayed two nights while in the area for a family funeral. We have stayed in the Comfort several times before, and they have maintained and improved it through the years. Friendly and helpful staff helped with some suggestions and printing. Good comfortable beds, clean functional bathrooms, and a traditional, good, breakfast. ||Hotel is not far off I-99 and Route 22, with a Hoss's steakhouse across the parking lot in one direction, and Marzoni's Brick Oven & Brewing Co. on the opposite side. Parts of family tried both, and enjoyed their meals.

I stayed at this Comfort Inn while traveling for work, and unfortunately my experience was extremely disappointing. When I arrived late Monday after a long day of travel and work, I discovered dried, smelly urine on the bottom of my toilet seat. I immediately called the front desk, but was told there was no housekeeping staff available to clean it. They offered to move me to a different room, but I was exhausted and asked that it simply be cleaned the next morning. I was also missing a shower curtain the first night. I reminded the front desk Tuesday morning, and they assured me it would be addressed. It wasn’t. The same thing happened Wednesday. Service at hotel was lackluster. Front Desk staff were cordial, but not overly welcoming. Room was in need of an update. Furnishings and tv very dated. AC didn’t cool efficiently. Sink and toilet were clogged. Breakfast was very average, nothing special. Front desk didn’t inquire about my stay or I would have informed them of room issues at check-out.

I booked a suite so that we could sit on a sofa to watch TV instead of the bed, more comfortable. We check in and the tv in the suite section does not work. Not a big deal, the other tv worked. I gas up my car in the morning and cannot unlock the door with the card when I return. My wife was inside and let me in. After breakfast we could not get back in the room. Assuming the cards needed re- programmed, I went to the front desk and got two new cards. They did not work. Tried two more cards, they did not work. Maintenance man was not there and no one knew where he was. We learned that he not been there the day before either. They tried the master card key, the housekeeping keycard, and the physical metal key, but nothing worked to open the door. The people working there were v

The rooms are very clean with lots of amenities, the hotel itself is very quiet which makes for a great nights rest. They offer free breakfast and the staff are very friendly! Absolutely recommend!
