Cliffview Resort

If ever the word “resort” was misused…this is the place. Let me first say that the room was as represented on website. It was clean and everything worked…AC, refrigerator, hot water etc. and the bed was comfortable. Outside the room the “resort” was a mess! There is no view of the lake unless you go down a one car path that is very bad shape. The pool is a joke, basketball rims torn down, ping pong table was there, but no paddles and no balls and no one to get them for you. They advertised a charcoal grill, but there was not one at our cabin. On arrival, I asked about the missing grill…it never showed up. It would be more appropriately named Cliff Cabins. If you want a room to go out on the lake, it’s decent…but not a resort.

We stayed here for 3 days over Valentine's Day weekend. It was AMAZING! The property is under new ownership and is family run. They are wonderful people and will go to great lengths to help you with anything. The cabins are nice, well furnished and clean. The property is quaint, overlooking the lake/harbor. Lots of areas to put in and to wet a hook. We will definitely be going back.

Vintage charm, absolute vintage charm at it's finest. We found this charming place while looking for a place to host our family reunion. This resort could not have been more perfect. It was stepping back into the 1950's with the service, safety and family friendly atmosphere here. The kids were able to freely play (without parents being worried about their safety), swim and just be kids. The parents had ample room to fellowship and enjoy our time. We took the Knox's advice on a fishing guide service through the resort and were thoroughly pleased. We were able to bring our boats, paddle boards and kayaks and enjoy the lake and the channels (with waterfalls!) just off the dock of the resort. We loved it here! The drive from Dallas was an easy 2hrs. Our cabin had more than enough room for the 4 of us plus our dogs. The air conditioning was super cold & much appreciated after long days out in the sun & on the water. Our dogs LOVED it here & swam each day until they passed out. We explored the lake on our paddle boards and relaxed floating in the marina. The owners and other staff were so nice & accommodating with everything. We will definitely be coming back!

Giving 5 stars because we had a family reunion here back in 1976. The place was fun and we had a good time. I remember laying around the swimming pool and walking down to the dock. It was my first visit to Texas and I loved it.
