Clackamas Lake Historic Ranger Station

Clackamas Ranger Station I was there for a running race and loved the trail and the views. I have been there without the race as well. Timothy Lake is amazing running around it is so peaceful.

Not much going on here — this may have been a lovely, well-preserved window into the past at one point, but it’s fallen into disrepair and just looks like an abandoned building …with the surrounding structures also looking pretty tired. You can’t go inside, either. Too bad; the immediate area is nice, but there’s really no need to go out of your way to see this. Last note; this is NOT a campground - as suggested by Google.

The cabin is awesome, but the immediate surroundings are not great. The lake is basically a grass marsh and the cabin is right on the highway. Timothy lake is close by, but you have to drive there...

Sad to see this place closed. Trump's cuts to the Forest Service have left places like this short of staffing. This is a little museum with interesting info about the history of the area....
