City Of Donnelly Campground

$15 to park overnight. Couple of toilets up at entrance where you fill out an envelope & leave payment. The "lake" is a few large puddles at this point. But I hear the dam is a little ways south- maybe they drained it for some reason. We just wanted a place to walk a bit & rest for the night. Not easy to find- but site #9 is fantastic. A not TOOO big group could camp there. We had already registered & paid when we found that site on a walk. The view is good @ that site. The rest was kinda "eh". There's a camp host that we did not see or interact with.

This campground is mere moments from Donnelly city center. Which I believe is why it's almost always empty when we go. Spring, summer, fall. No matter the time of the year we have found it less busy than its counterparts spread around Lake Cascade. Each of the spaces are generous in sizing, most easily fitting a small RV or Camp Trailer. Being close to town, the facilities and spaces are well maintained. Not far from the campground is Boat access. If you forget or need something for your stay the markets and gas stations not too far down the road are well stocked. Now even though it is close to Donnelly, it is just far enough away to feel like you are hundreds of miles from the next person.

Great camp ground, nicely cared for and two swimming beaches. No water, or trash service but near town and right on the lake. Better than then NFS campgrounds not quite as nice as the State campgrounds around the lake. Would stay here again!

Dirtiest fire pit we had on a campground with a camp host. Nobody seems to take care although you pay for the campground. But the views were great for one overnight.

I had motorcycle trouble on Labor Day weekend and limped into this campgrounds, I had cracked my valve cover out on the ID BDR. The campground and bathrooms were clean and nice, next to the river. The Camp Host was a younger man, Nick that also rides, and I couldn’t have asked for a better Host, he was beyond helpful, and just an overall great guy. He went above and beyond, lending me tools, taking me to the local motorcycle shop, visiting, and giving me advice, thanks Nick! I would highly recommend this campground, mainly due to Nick!
