Cielo Hotel Bishop-Mammoth, an Ascend Collection Hotel

Unfortunately the room we were staying in had a heater that didn’t work and we had to move to another room. Also the included breakfast that was promised in the advertisement was really disappointing and we ended up going to have to eat out instead. Cleanliness was fine and toiletries provided were nice as well. Had to ask for additional toilet paper which was provided right away by housekeeping. Location was why we chose this hotel in the first place but the price was not worth it (in our opinion) and we will probably go elsewhere next time.

The place is fine. You'll pay a premium for high season. The only issue I have is that they call this a boutique hotel, implying it's higher end. The hotel is really a remodeled motel. Had they called it a middle upper tier motel, I'd say that is more accurate. Not sure if I'd stay again, the walls are super thin. You can hear everything from the outside and the next rooms. Beds are a little hard. Fit and finish could have been better. It is remodeled with cleaner furnishings. I'd say, it's just okay given everything.

Positive: Lobby was pretty nice. Bed was comfortable. Negative: Desk person gave us a room that smelled like rotting fish (window was open when we arrived). We were able to switch rooms. Bathroom was ridiculously small, towels were also on small side. Breakfast very limited and disappointing. 2.5 star hotel not 3 star

Total garbage. I cannot actually believe how much they charge for how terrible this hotel is. Old, dirty, small rooms. “Breakfast” is a complete joke, they have absolutely nothing, just pieces of bread and some cereal. A previous comment mentioned waffles and eggs, they must have changed this, because there was no hot food and no waffle maker. This place up charges about $50/night compared to other hotels in the area that do have amazing complimentary breakfast. Will never stay here again, you’re better off staying at he Motel 6 or any other hotel in Bishop. What a complete embarrassment for Choice hotels that this is part of their collection.

Don't fall for the pictures. First night television doesn't work, they fix it, then the WiFi doesn't work so dont plan on getting any work done. Oh yeah, they charge a $10 a night "resort fee" for the internet that doesn't work. Then they don't service your room unless ask apparently. Would've been nice to know when I checked in.
