Cherokee Lake Campground

We have our boat in fall Creek Marina, and this is my "home lake". I love this beautiful lake!

When we retired and moved to TN in 2000, Cherokee Lake Campground was the closest one to us that was located on the lake. We wanted a place to leave our camper so we wouldn't have to haul it back and forth all of the time. It had just been taken over by new owners, they were just learning the ropes and we found them to be very accomidating and affordable. We soon had lots of regulars at the campground and it was a very friendly community. The lake is beautiful and we love to fish. Fishing on this lake was the greatest. We spent a big portion of our first 4 years at this campground. We moved away, and I know there were many changes taking place when we left. I can't imagine it being anything but GREAT! We drove up the mountain to the very top where there is parking for walking, sight-seeing etc.. and being able to look out past the tress and jus see the beautiful lake and boats etc.. was breath taking. I felt a bit strange as I'm not used to being in the mountains and that high looking at anything other than a plane, so this was different for me and living in Ohio all my life this was a sight to see.

This is one of the nicer campgrounds in the area in my opinion. It is regularly patroled by both Game and Fish and the HCSO. There is a boat ramp close by. No alcohol is allowed and a license is required in order to fish. They do strictly enforce the rules.
