Cherokee Grand Hotel

We went out to Cherokee Casino and ended up wanting to get a hotel for a few hours rest before heading back home. The Casino was sold out so I tried to be adventurous and booked this hotel with a 8.7 excellence rating. It turned out to be more of a motel then hotel and the front desk representative gaslighted me upon inquiring on the hotels potential issues before checking in. I gave him the benefit of the doubt but "trust but verify" and before even getting my items out the car, we inspected the room. To my dismay there was in fact a bug in the bed directly on the mattress protector. Of course, there is no absolute way I would have stayed at that point. My wife and I stayed in a king deluxe room. The room was damp and had a musty odor. The shower ceiling had visible stains from an obvious leak from above. There was visible mold on the desk chair and the desk itself. My wife is very susceptible to mold and was ill the entire weekend. We informed the hotel staff of the room conditions and were offered nothing. It’s cheaper than other hotels in the immediate vicinity but there’s a reason for this. You get what you pay for strikes true in this case

This place was an all around good experience. The staff was very professional and friendly. Room was very nice. Considering location, pricing was very reasonable. The shuttle service is very reliable and convenient. The driver, Chip, was very informative, friendly and was very reliable on pick-ups. And the proximity to the casino is great. Would highly recommend and we look forward to our next stay.

Positive: Incredible value for the price. Excellent location. Walking distance to the casino, easy parking, clean rooms. Negative: Very very thin walls. If someone is even having a casual conversation you can hear it.

I was extremely pleased by the room and service. I had just broken my foot hours earlier the same day, and the young man at the front desk was very kind and accommodating. He helped me with everything I needed, and went above and beyond to make sure I was fine for the night. I got my requested room on the upper floor, and everything was clean and very comfy. Bed and pillows were perfect. The whole place was quiet despite the parking lot being full. It was a terrible day but thanks to this place it ended on a good note.
