Cherokee Creek RV Resort

Updating: We stayed here for 4 months and enjoyed our visit. The biggest down side (which we wish we would have known before choosing this place) the wifi issues. The first few weeks we were here they had wifi for the guests, then one day there was no wifi at all, period. This was frustrating because on the web site and when we signed the paperwork wifi was included, when they removed the wifi no price deductions on monthly rate and no notice of it being removed. Also, the cell service is almost obsolete that far out of town, dropping calls, no connections, no Hotspot. Beautiful area, but definitely inconvenient if you want to stay in contact with people. The family who runs this park are incredible! They’re responsive to you needs, they are very friendly. They are continually upgrading things. The RV park is a few miles off the highway, so there is no highway noise. There’s laundry, showers, vending machines, ice, propane, nice play area for the kids, mail room, two fenced pet areas, and a lake to walk to on the property. No drugs, no crime, no riffraff, all families and working people. Beautiful views of the lake and pasture on evening walks. Edit: We LOVE that there’s zero fear of a branch or tree falling on our RV, since RVs can be easily crushed. We also use our own Wi-Fi, called a HomeFi, you can take it with you in your purse or back pack!

I stayed here for a little over 18 months and had no issues with the park. The shower / laundry room is a decent size and well maintained. The vending machine did come in handy a couple of times! The lot sizes are huge and easily accessible. The only negative comment would be the lack of shade, my awning faced east so I got a lot of sunshine during the day and evening. The owners are so helpful and accommodating. I would recommend that you stay here for a night, a week or a few months.

Bad management, flooding issues, unclean facilities! But the biggest issue…They stole my deposit! Upon checking out, I left the lot exactly as I found it. They said I would get my deposit back. After waiting a couple months, I called to check. They said I should get it, but I believe they were just hoping I would give up and let it slide. It’s now been 6 months and 2 more times I’ve called they say the same excuse.

I had to travel to the DFW area for an extended, 3-week work trip. Cherokee Creek was close to the dog daycare facility I was using, so I booked here. At first, I wasn't too sure about the stay here because it looked unkempt. But, I later found out that it had been raining for weeks before I got there, so the owner didn't have a chance to get the grass mowed due to the rains. So that was totally forgivable. After I got settled with the dogs and got situated, I took them to the dog park which is what I would consider HUGE! What a great place to give my two very active Boxers a place to run around and do their business - and get some exercise. Although, I do wish a bit more was done to get more grass in the dog park as there were some bare spots where water and mud would gather. But it wasn
