Chemin-A-Haut State Park

Beautiful. We walked along the river in the trail. There's also a playground and a swimming pool, cabins, all kinds of things to do. If you're 62 or older you get in for free too. We got in for free!

This park is so beautiful. The campground only has 25 or so spots so it's really quiet. The spots are all really big, have nice tent pads, and are shaded. There really isn't a bad spot. The lower numbered side of the loop is a little more level, so we found it better for tent camping. My parents stayed in a cabin and it was super cute and cozy! If you plan to prep a lot of food, bring an extra little table. We did Thanksgiving there and were lacking in counter space, but overall, we loved it. The trails were really well taken care of, so we hiked with my 3 year old and my older parents and everyone was comfortable.

This is a great place! Not many people know about it except for the locals. This park has it all: playgrounds, pavilions, nature trails, fishing, cabins, and a swimming pool! If you live in Northeast Louisiana, you have to try this place. It’s a great place to bring your family and have events.

I took my grandson here today, and we found it to be a very pleasant trail experience. This location has a swimming pool along with Cabins that are able to be rented. The trails are wide and clear enough for the youngest of adventures to enjoy. There is no swimming, but you can rent Kayaks to explore the waterways. The picnic areas have grills and they are both shaded and close to the restrooms. there is an open area for large gathers and places to play football, or just lounge on the grass. I will be looking into renting a cabin for the weekend very soon.

This is the get away place for my family to go when we get together. We try to go 3 times a year and hopefully will plan alot more trips there. Very beautiful scenery and peaceful, plus alot of long trails to walk#DatCampLife
