Champagne House

Clean, but definitely not a fun place to stay. No comfort, whatsoever. Can't sit outside; the neighborhood is run down. The yard is not taken care of. Buildings need painted. Totally misrepresented online. Over a mile to the lake. Vrbo is getting a bad rap!

We had so much fun staying at the Champagne House! After a day of winery hopping this was a great place to stay in the awesome town of Hammondsport. Check-in at the Village Tavern was easy and they were so nice! The Champagne house is a 5 minute walk outside of the main part of town so it is a perfect quiet place to stay, and a fast and safe walk into town for dinner. The second floor suite was extremely clean and cozy. For people who normally stay in hotels, this far exceeded my expectations and I think I am officially an Inn person now :) I will definitely stay at the Champagne House again!!

Door was so swollen we had so shoulder slam to enter. Floors were dirty, bedspread was stained. Only one bedside table and no side lights. No coffee for coffee maker. No hangers in closet. No internet. Snarky host. Good location. Quiet neighborhood.

Great property with 4 private units. Ground floor ones are great because you don’t have to carry all the wine upstairs! Lots of great wine in the area. Upstairs does have a king bed. All the rooms were comfy, clean, small fridge, wine glasses and nice fireplace. One block to restaurants so no need to drive or risk getting pulled over. Will stay here again when our wine supply runs low!

I have stayed in the summer and fall for the past few years. Quiet, clean and has everything you need. I like the location since it is an easy walk to village square (2 blocks) and lake. Nearby wineries, breweries, hiking and swimming. I would love to see a gazebo off to the side of the building to relax with a book and a glass of wine!
