Cedarkirk Cedar Lodge

Our experience at Cedarkirk was unforgettable. We stayed with friends and brothers and sisters in Christ from Emanuel Lutheran Church, enjoying a peaceful and welcoming environment. One of the best parts was the canoe trip from Alderman’s Park to Cedarkirk, paddling for two hours through beautiful scenery. Evenings were filled with deep conversations and prayer, and on Sunday morning, we had a beautiful outdoor service under a bright blue sky. The zip line, games, and Swamp Trail added excitement to our stay. The hospitality and the connection with nature made everything perfect. It’s the ideal place to disconnect, recharge, and strengthen our faith. We will definitely be back!

The staff was very accommodating and made sure that our retreat group’s needs were met. The cabin was tidy and provided the basics for a comfortable overnight stay. We all enjoyed the serenity of the grounds and spaces that made it possible to be in community with God.

I've been with a large group and with a small group. The camp can accommodate both. Recently we rented the Retreat House for the weekend. It comfortably held all 15 of us. We slept 2-3 to a room in good beds (bring sheets & pillow cases, pillows and blankets provided). The main space was large enough for us to have 2 groups playing cards and one group playing a board game. The screened porch was lovely. We enjoyed walking the nature trails, canoeing, disc golf, and the pool. The food was delicious and the staff did everything they could to make our weekend fabulous. We have already booked for next year.

My daughter and her friend went to the 2 day Christmas camp in December to give it a try. First, they did not get to do all the things all the other kids got to do because a couple kids in their group were non stop crying so they made the entire group stay in instead of doing archery and zipline. Also, at the time the girls said some men were staying in a cabin nearby. I didn't think much of it thinking of course, they must be extra safe. But over the summer we went over to their open house and the girls showed me their cabin and then pointed to the cabin these 2 men were staying in which was just steps away from theirs! During kids camp they still rent out their other cabins and campgrounds to strangers. I would assume they aren't doing background checks on these people. The girls s
