Cedar Island Ranch

We stayed at camp sites 1 and 2. Booking and site request were perfect and staff was friendly by phone. We booked this for a Sunday through Saturday stay. We were called Sunday morning informing us that we had the option to check in early. We live about 4 hours away and weren't going to be there until after the office closed. With that being said, we were informed that the office is closed Monday-Wednesday. If we needed anything we could call the number listed and let them know of our concerns. We showed up around 5:00pm and went straight to camp. Upon using the restroom we noticed a terrible sulphur smell. It was very strong and nauseating. Thankfully we brought extra water. But there was also no paper towels in the lady's restrooms and a small amount in the men's. The bathrooms also need

When you want to escape, this is the ideal place! No real food options nearby. Local gas station open at random times, next nearest is 17 miles. Staff are awesome and very accommodating. We've stayed twice this year (1 week in May, 2 weeks in October). When the wind and rain kick up, it's pretty miserable, but otherwise, great place to walk the beach!

We love this quiet, low-key place on the Sound.. The one thing you need to plan for is there are no eating facilities anywhere nearby. There is a well-stocked general store a mile or so down the road where you can get things to heat in the microwave. The owner is very responsive and available for after-hours check-ins. It's a lot of fun to ride the horses along the Sound and through the water.

We brought our horses and stayed in our horse trailer which has living quarters. Devon who runs the barn was wonderful as was the owners. It is the most peaceful beautiful place we will be back.

My husband and I booked the hour long horseback ride on Thursday. We had a excellent experience. Our two guides were great. I was told that we would receive pictures and videos of our ride via email. Disappointed we have yet to receive these things yet. Truly excited to see our memories. Connie and Gary
