Horrible Hotel!!! We made a reservation and called the week of arrival to ask for a request, The desk made no mention that our reservation was cancelled by the 3rd party booker. We were not told this. We checked in early but our room wasn't ready. We had another engagement at 3PM so that was fine. Again no mention of any problem with our reservation. We were told we would just need to get a key before 9PM. Again that was fine. But when we came back we were not put in the room we reserved. The room we booked had an ocean view soaking tub and a private patio. It was even pictured online. But when we arrived we were given a key to the worst hotel room in my LIFE!!!! Not a good place to stay anymore. Rude staff. Troubled property. There’s no hot water on Saturdays between 5pm and 10pm according to staff. We wish we would have known. They “are aware,” but couldn’t warn guests that the need to reset the water heaters on the roof but couldn’t do that until 9pm. Couldn’t shower before dinner or after dinner, after a day at the beach. Were told we’d be taken care of, after us and other guests complained. Found out at check out they’d give us a voucher for a free breakfast not money off the night’s stay. Told staff that we’ve stayed here over 6 or 7 times and this was our 10 year anniversary and had to cancel our nice dinner plans because we couldn’t get cleaned up. Told staff we would consider not staying here next time. They said “that’s fine.” Also the Wi

The wife and I stayed here for a weekend and loved it. The rooms are quaint and the deck outside the rooms are perfect for watching the sun set over the ocean. If you want the Ritz, this isn’t the place. If you want a comfortable room with a nice bed, look no further. The bathroom tubs are a little dated, and used to have a jacuzzi function, which no longer works, but the shower was hot and worked fine. The San Clemente trolley stops outside and is free, so you can park your car, have a drink or two, and let public transportation do heavy lifting for you. They gave us a coffee voucher for the cafe downstairs, and with a $5 tip, we had multiple refills in the morning. We will definitely stay here again.

Lovely location and great views. Taking cold water showers at night and again in the morning, ruined our stay. The after hours number was wrongs so no one to address the issue. Manager only offer to cover our breakfast at their restaurant as compensation. When I mentioned comping a room, not only did she say no and not even one at 50%-she gave us the opportunity to book at a later date for almost $300. Well over what we paid for our stay. No comped room and the opportunity to give them $300 more??!! So disappointed in this property!!!! Give your money to any other hotel in San Clemente!!

Amazing location however, our room was 86 degrees when we arrived to find there is NO air conditioning. We immediately vacated and requested a refund. This place might be great in the winter, but not the summer.
