Canaan Motel

We had had an accident in the area and needed to find a place to stay. This motel was a little farther than we wanted but it was such a great find! The owner, Neil, couldn't have been nicer--he happily accommodated a late arrival and made good restaurant recommendations. He was very warm and welcoming. The room was larger than I had ever found in a motel and was super clean, with crisp white sheets and plenty of towels.

It’s a lovely little property out of town. It’s very, very clean with everything I need in the room: a comfortable bed, large, a big refrigerator for storing food and very, very quiet. There are a number of rooms on the back of the motel that face a large open area surrounded by trees. I did not use the pool, but it looks beautiful. There is no breakfast, but that’s fine with me. I would definitely stay here again.

This place is a gem. Do t let the outside deceive you. The rooms are large, clean and comfortable. There are even real coffee mugs with the coffee maker - where else are you going to find that?! Stayed here on a motorcycle trip. If I’m ever back in the general area I’ll be staying again. Desk clerk (owner?) could not be nicer, a wonderful guy. Of the 8 day trip this was the best of any we’ve stayed at.

We’ve been in the area before and stayed at different places so my expectations were very low. The room at the Canaan Motel exceeded my expectations. The room was larger than expected, beds are comfy. Room is clean! And above all, the man that checked us in ( I’m assuming the owner ) was great! Super friendly with great customer service skills. The price was great as well. If we are in the area again, this is where we will stay. I would 100% recommend staying here.

Dear Neil, thank you for watching over my daughter when she stays there. She just loves staying there, she says it’s quiet, clean and well managed. She appreciates staying in a safe place. She likes the peace and quiet, hot water plentiful, and cleanliness and she can make a cup of tea in the microwave whenever she’d like one. You folks are the best. Thank you again.
