Great location and not a bad experience but probably won't be back. Pros: Friendly hosts Heavily wooded area. Felt like you were in the woods Trails Close to downtown/activity Cons: Trees hit camper getting to site/not cut back. Narrow turn into sites/hard parking. We had a group site but only 1 electric post, we couldn't run our ac because both campers were 30amp and only 1 plug in. Bathrooms/outhouse needed attention.
We booked our stay for Haydays weekend, after paying to much at a different campground last year. We got to our site and realized I forgot the camper keys, as we was getting ready for our 2 hour drive home, the owner stopped and said he keeps a few sets for this reason. He came back wit a coffee can full of keys and he found the one we was looking for! Just don’t find that help these days. On top of it all the stay was perfect, quiet area, clean bathrooms, can’t ask for anything more. We wil definitely be back next year.
I will never come back or recommend this place to anyone, ever. Do yourself a favor and stay away. At check-in, I was assigned a different camp site than the one I reserved (for some reason) and was warned that the nearest porta-potty to the site hadn't been serviced yet that day. As far as I could tell, that meant no one had been there that day, or the day before, or the day before that, etc. The pile of shit in there was massive - very little of it was actually submerged in the blue liquid chemicals. With so much exposed to the air, the stench was horrendous. Someone in one of the lowest campsites, toward the bottom of the hill, was blasting music so loudly that the thumping of the bass was easy to hear at the back of the camp grounds, on a site that was just behind the crest of the hi
Nice wooded campground for tent camping. Recommend sites A34, Knob, Robin, and Doe. Not much for hiking trails though
Very nice to come here. The owner is a super helpful, great guy. He knew I was traveling alone and put me in a camping spot that wasn't way back in the woods, camping alone. He checked to make sure I got to my spot. It is really pretty, heavily wooded and beautiful ferns. It is kid and pet friendly, including a playground. It isn't your camp in a field type local. I'm shocked the bugs weren't bad, near Duluth I went home trying to camp. Cute little wooded location.
