Camp Kettlewood

My weekend at Camp Kettlewood may have turned me into a camper! The property is beautiful and so relaxing. My friend group struggles to find trips we can take together since we all have dogs, so we were happy to pay the pet fees and bring our pups! We had the pleasure of staying at the Crows Nest site with platform tents. The site was incredibly well maintained, GORGEOUS, and felt very private. We stayed on an October weekend where overnight temperatures were below freezing, but the tents were comfortable with the mini heaters. We slept one person to a tent but could have easily fit two people. It rained frequently one of our days, and the tents stayed nice and dry. We had a wonderful stay at Camp Kettlewood this summer. Even though the weather was hot and rainy, we were perfectly comfortable in the Sunview cabin. The ceiling fan and a/c unit kept us cool, the roof kept us dry during a big thunderstorm, and we slept so well on the super comfy bed. We really appreciated all of the thoughtful features, especially the mini fridge and plenty of outlets. The owner is a gracious host and has truly thought of everything a guest might need, from extra blankets and firewood to a coffee maker. The communal bathrooms were immaculate and a huge plus during our stay. We highly recommend Camp Kettlewood and are already looking forward to returning next summer.

The campsite made for the perfect weekend get-away. We stayed in the canned ham vintage campers, and they were perfect for our group. The bathrooms were always clean and well-lit. The grounds are gorgeous. There’s a beautiful loop that takes you around the whole camp. We ran into a small issue with a lock on one of the doors. The owners were responsive and sent an extremely friendly gentleman to come help us out. He even sprayed our picnic area for bees. This is the perfect place to unplug, run around barefoot, eat s’mores and laugh!

We had a great weekend. This place feels magical and somewhere that you can really unwind and enjoy nature and peace. We would go into town in the afternoon and explore, then in the evenings come back for a bonfire and stargazing. Waking up in the mornings and going outside with your coffee is also the best! We stayed at Deer Run and the bed and pillows were SO comfortable!

Each campsite is separate from each other and the grounds are beautiful. I enjoyed the opportunity to stay in a vintage camper trailer. We stayed in the airstream and it has an amazing view. My issue with it is the musty smell, use of air freshener and constant ticking of a couple of pest control devices. Also, Camp Kettlewood is run like an Air B and B with a very strict cancellation policy and added cleaning fee. If you’re okay with that, I’d say go for it. Overall, it was an enjoyable stay.
