My twin brother and I went there the summer if 1967. I remember a lot of activities, arts and crafts, physical exercise in the mornings, swimming, baseball, running relays. I got accidentally hit in the head with a bat in a baseball game by the camp councilors, knockout 20 minutes but free canteen for 4 weeks. My brother was super home sick but finally had fun. The food, songs were great. Good memories.

Growing up, spending summers at Camp Buckskin helped me grow tremendously. The routine, traditions, and positivity are the three best aspects I can describe about Camp Buckskin. It taught me delayed gratification, organization, and the importance of understanding choices and their consequences. Consequences are not necessarily bad; they are simply the results of your actions, whether positive or negative. The traditions at Camp Buckskin were timeless. From Mr. Higgins driving down the road in the old firetruck on Olympic Day to receiving your paddle with red emblems symbolizing the effort and work you put into the program, every tradition carried deep meaning. Each program provided opportunities for kids to discover talents, improve skills, or learn something entirely new. The process of l

While overall a good experience (as well as can recall after 30 yrs), have to agree on both the leeches, and some of the reports on inconsistencies in punishment. Snacks/canteen denied as punishments, and repeated because said "I don't want any" instead of stating it was punishment. Reprimanded because bedmate would accuse me of wetting his lower bunk from my top, despite mine being dry....he later peed in my shoes repeatedly. Accused of lying mid hike that I was sick because I knew I never got headaches, while clearly being lied to about "hiking across Canadian border" (can see now it was a good 30 miles to border, not the 3 or so hiked)

I visited this camp twice for two consecutive summers. My first year, 2014, I participated in Session 2. That session is the main reason as to why I am giving this camp 5 stars. I had amazing cabin mates who were fun to be around and talk to yet really helpful when necessary. My counselors were tough but really fair, guiding us when necessary and quickly solving problems between the 8 of us. Every one of the seven activities offered high enjoyment for me, although I didn't swim a few days due to the threat of leeches and not having good swimming shoes. Yet, the counselors were fine with it, as I tore through the make-up sessions. The second time, Session 1 of 2015, I would probably give 2 or 3 stars for the simple reason that almost all of my cabin mates were TOTAL DOUCHEBAGS. They would s

I beleave it was 1979-80 I spent a month up there,no complaints at all, counselors were good I guess , there's 2 that stuck out more in arts and crafts, married couple, I see the picture my cabin I was in B6 WOW , can't remember anything bad about it at all, I do remember two military choppers and pilots setting down out in that big open field just out that door and towards the right. Inspiring moment then, let down later. Memories are alittle hazy now but the ones I've cherished at a auckward age being shy and turning rebellious for a few minutes at later times, was movie night and capture the 🚩. Both circled around my first crush and first time I realized how sweaty holding hands was lol. Hope she is doing well as for all those guys from cabin B6,and the counselors that mentored
